A Penn State sophomore has created a petition against the school’s plans to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Joe Paterno’s first game as head coach during Saturday’s game against Temple.
Andrew Limauro is the student who started the petition.
According to the description of the petition, Limauro has said that it’s too early to make a definitive decision to honor the late coach and that the decision is ill-informed and that the university should not go through with it.
“Whether it is comfortable to admit or not, neither side can be absolutely sure of the extent to which Joe Paterno was involved in the Penn State Child Sexual Abuse Scandal,” Limauro said.
Currently the petition has 145 supporters out of 200.
The game starts at noon Saturday, September 17.
