A state representative in Blair County is pushing for an increase in funding for a local library.
Representative John McGinnis is seeking clarification from the Wolf administration for the Altoona Area Public Library for fiscal year 2015 – 2016.
McGinnis asks that the governor comply with Section 9338 of the PA Consolidated Statutes that states, “No district library center shall receive less than $200,000.”
The library has received nearly $150,000 annually from the state in the last decade, but should be receiving an additional 50,000 dollars, according to those statutes.
