State of the court assembly held in Blair County

Judges and officers gathered at the Blair County Courthouse Monday, for the State of the Court Assembly.

There were presentations about probation systems and a rundown of this year’s security by Sheriff Sam McClure.

The assembly is an opportunity for departments in the courthouse to touch base with others and review progress of each office.

President Judge Elizabeth Doyle said it’s also a chance to look at issues in the community and how staff can work together to tackle them.

“One giant challenge facing the court system right now is the opioid epidemic that is very serious and is taking a lot of our time,” Judge Doyle said.

This was the 11th year of the assembly.
