In response to Friday morning’s flooding the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency is activating the state Commonwealth Response Coordination Center.

“We started getting reports of significant flooding in Centre, Clinton, Lycoming, Bradford and Sullivan counties early this morning,” said PEMA Director Richard D. Flinn Jr. “We’re working with state agency partners to make sure we provide every available state resource to help the counties respond to the needs of our citizens.”

According to a press release, the activation started at 5 a.m. with staff from PEMA, the departments of Health, Human Services, Environmental Protection, Transportation, and Military and Veterans Affairs, PA Fish and Boat Commission, the PA State Police and the American Red Cross.

The State Incident Management Team is on standby to deploy to any county to assist with recovery coordination and PEMA liaisons are en route to affected counties.
