UPDATE: The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has lifted the 45 mph speed limit restrictions that were in place across the region, all speeds have been restored to their usual posted limits.
PennDOT is continuing to treat roadways in the area and will continue until roads are clear.
FROM PENNDOT: Due to the snow storm hitting the region, PennDOT is temporarily reducing the speed limit on several roadways in the region.
PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:
- Interstate 70, in Bedford and Fulton counties
- Interstate 99, in Bedford and Blair counties
- Route 219 in Cambria and Somerset counties
- Route 22 in Blair and Cambria counties
Emergency crews are also on scene of tractor trailer wreck along Interstate 80. East and Westbound lanes in Clearfeild, between Exit 111 and Exit 120 have been shut down.
