The speed limit on a heavily traveled road in State College has changed.
Drivers who take Blue Course Drive between West College Avenue and Circleville Road/Teaberry Lane can not exceed 45 miles per hour. The previous speed limit was 50 miles per hour.
Township officials said it’s been 12 years since the speed limit was changed on that road.
According to a press release from the township, a review of the road features – specifically the concrete barrier curb – and of roadway design standards, contributed to the decision.
“While it may not be a popular decision, staff recommended the new posting for engineering safety and liability reasons,” David Modricker, Ferguson Township Public Works Director, said.
