Jurors in the criminal trial against former Penn State president Graham Spanier began Thursday afternoon.

Spanier is accused of failing to report accusations that former football coach Jerry Sandusky was sexually abusing kids.

In closing arguments, Spanier’s attorneys said the incident that Sandusky molested a boy in a locker room show was never reported to him as sexual in nature.

Prosecutors said that Spanier was aware of what happened but chose to protect the university’s reputation.

Former Penn State administrators Tim Curley and Gary Schultz were accused of failing to report the abuse, but they took a plea deal and testified during the trial.  Both admitted they wish they would have done more.
