Grampian Penn Bloom Volunteer Fire Company Chief Nick Selner has issued a Mandatory Burn Ban in part of Clearfield County.
It will take effect immediately for the Grampian Borough, Penn Township, and Ferguson Township.
A Burn Ban includes all open burning of any sort. “Open Burning” is defined by Pennsylvania DCNR as “the ignition and subsequent burning of any combustible material (garbage, leaves, grass, twigs, litter, paper, vegetative matter involved with land clearing, or any sort of debris) out-of-doors either in a burn barrel or on the ground.”
The ban is in effect until further notice.
