Jerry Sandusky continues his push to get a new trial.
Friday’s hearing is the first of three evidentiary hearings scheduled.
The defense is expected to call witnesses to support their claim that Sandusky’s original trial counsel was ineffective.
First on the witness stand Friday morning was Sandusky’s trial lawyer Joe Amendola.
A new judge was recently assigned to his case after John Cleland stepped down.
Sandusky was found guilty of 40 counts of child sex abuse and is serving a 30-year prison sentence.
