Students at Saint Francis University are hoping to start a new business venture in West Africa. They’re helping students at a sewing school in Guinea.

The school was set up in the fall to give girls an education and teach them a trade. Now, Saint Francis students with the Enactus business club want to help the graduates of the sewing school start a career by making medical scrubs.

“It’s very inspirational to help people over there,” said Alex Romeo, a junior at Saint Francis University. “Get them started and get them into the business world and get them to make a career and help them survive and live.”

Eventually, the goal is to sell and export the scrubs into the United States. Right now, Saint Francis students are still doing research about materials and costs to make that goal a reality.
