The Centre County District Attorney’s office is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that may lead to an arrest in the homicide investigation of Jean Tuggy.

Tuggy was found dead inside of her Irion Street home on January 21 by two friends. Investigators said her body was found on the first floor of the Pine Grove Mills home. According to a cremation report, Tuggy died from a gunshot wound to the face.

The district attorney expressed frustration that nobody has come forward with information and stressed Tuggy was a real person, she was a mother and someone who people describe as “peaceful.”

“There is no reason she should have enemies and now you know she was shot, there is no logical reason this woman would have enemies,” District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller said. “There has to be a person that would probably repeat what they have done, whether it be out of fear or panic or just the age-old inclination to share your worst fears with someone. People know and we are waiting to hear it.”

Police urge residents to remain vigilant and said officers are patrolling the Pine Grove Mills area.

Authorities stress any detail, no matter how big or small, could help them solve the case. Email tips to tip@centrecountycrimestoppers.org or call Ferguson Township Police.
