BEDORD – The rain didn’t stop folks from coming out to the relay for life in Bedford County. They had to make a few changes, but most of the teams still showed up.

Teams are usually able to walk around the lake, but this year they moved the relay inside the pavilion.

The rainy weather didn’t put down their spirits though or change their goal to raise $57,000.

“Everybody in the community, you’ve either got a relative, family member, you’ve got a friend, a coworker, that’s been affected by cancer,” said Jeffrey Morse, Bedford Relay for Life Event Leader. “We need to end this disease.  We need to put an end to cancer.  That’s why most of these teams come out and fight for it because we want to have the day where there’s no cancer and a lot more birthdays.”

Because of the weather today, the Bedford Relay for Life will be finished up around seven Saturday night.
