It was another exciting night at Beaver Stadium.  Penn State continued its bid for a spot in the College Football Playoff with an impressive win over Iowa.

It’s a much different team than the one that took the field earlier this season.  Penn State’s offense is hitting on all cylinders. Saquon Barkley had another big night, surpassing 1,000 yards rushing for the season. The sophomore running back is starting to hear some Heisman chatter.

Penn State scored a touchdown on its opening drive when Trace McSorley hit Saeed Blacknell for a 19-yard touchdown pass.

In the second quarter, Barkley brought the whiteout crowd to its feed. His dazzling 56-yard touchdown showed speed and power as he would not be denied the end zone. Penn State led 14-0.

The sophomore running back finished the game with 20 carries for 167-yards. Penn State alum Matt Millen, who broadcasted the game for the Big Ten Network, suggested Barkley should start to be in the Heisman Trophy discussion.

The Nittany Lions defense was absolutely dominating holding the Iowa offense to a season low 234 yards.

With the 41-14 win, Penn State could move into the top ten of the College Football Playoff Rankings.
