President Obama offered a formal endorsement of Hillary Clinton with a video on Thursday.
He also has plans to campaign for the former secretary of state in Wisconsin next week in an effort to unify the Democratic party.
The endorsement came after the president met with Senator Bernie Sanders at the White House early on Thursday.
Sanders however, has vowed to stay in the race until the Democratic convention in July.
