Police say Alex Walter was driving under the influence of controlled substances when he lost consciousness and wrecked his car in The Meadows intersection. As a result, that intersection was shut down for more than 12 hours on January 27th.
A utility pole was knocked over and live wires were on the roadway. Two other vehicles were also involved in the accident. A utility company estimates damage at around $55,000. Walter is facing several charges including DUI, and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.
