Clearfield police say someone is taking advantage of people at the gas pumps.

Police say the suspect is asking to use Sheetz discount cards so he can get three cents off per gallon.

He’s allegedly claiming his own card is lost or not working, according to police Ptlmn. Shawn Fye. And after the pump is activated, he apparently gets his gas and then drives away.

Area residents are upset that someone has been getting away with this.

“I don’t believe that they should be stealing, especially in someone else’s name,” says Cliff Anderson from West Decatur.

“It took somebody to figure it out and now running around, getting the gas for nothing because then it’s coming back on the person who the card belongs to,” says Sue Lanich from Clearfield.

Police say it happened 3 times in the past month in Clearfield, once in Lawrence Township, and once in Carrolltown, and they say they have good security video.
