Detectives say a man was shot multiple times just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Dorothy Avenue in the West End section of the city.

The victim was shot multiple times and rushed to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for surgery. Detectives said a suspect was found a short time later near Oakhurst Homes.

Investigators said the suspect is known to police and they believe he knew the victim. However, it’s still too early to tell what led to this shooting.

This is still a very active investigation. Detectives haven’t yet released the name of the victim or suspect.
