A police chief who resigned in February is now suing the borough for 188 hours of back pay.
The suit filed on Monday by former Punxsutawney Police Chief James Borza says he had more than a month of unused leave that he was awarded upon his hiring and for 2016.
He says the treasurer told him that’s only for people who retire from their union position, and not resign.
The suit says he’s not a member of the union and wants his $4,500.
Mayor Richard Alexander says council officially accepted Borza’s resignation at a special meeting on Friday.
