Penn State will accept a 2.4 million dollar fine from the US Department of Education for its lack of action between 1998 and 2011, leading up to the Jerry Sandusky scandal.
The fine is for violating the Clery Act that requires colleges and universities to report campus crimes and warn students and employees about potential dangers. The US Department of Education released its five year audit of the university’s Clery Act compliance on November 6th.
