First responders were called to a vehicle-pedestrian crash near DuBois tonight.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of S. Brady Street.
Police say a man was crossing the street in the dark, when an SUV struck him.
One man says he heard the impact and tried to help direct traffic to stop the pedestrian, who lives nearby, from getting hit again.
“He was trying to stand up and we made him stay down,” says witness Mark Burton. “The lady that hit him was having a panic attack, upset. I don’t blame her, I would be too.”
We saw liquid from a can of Red Bull splattered across the street. The man was taken to the DuBois hospital for treatment and police are investigating.
UPDATE: Police say the 27-year-old man walked in front of a vehicle driven by a 44-year-old Weedville woman and was walking home from Kwik Fill when the collision happened.
