Legendary Hall of Fame Women’s Basketball Coach, Pat Summitt passed away June 28, at the age of 64.

Even though she coached at the University of Tennessee, her coaching advice and drive inspired many at Penn State, including women’s assistant basketball coach, Tamika Jeter.

Jeter said she was heavily recruited by Summitt and played against Summitt’s Volunteers in the National Championship in 2000.

Jeter said Summitt didn’t just influence women’s basketball, but all of basketball and sports.

“She had a huge influence on my life… Coach Summitt,” Jeter said. “The fact that I’m a woman, I’m coaching, I’m a mother. She was one of the first to really promote that and to get maternity leave. These are things people don’t really know about Pat.”

Jeter said Summitt was passionate and helped her on and off the court and that she’ll live forever.
