Nothing is left of the Skiver’s Tattoo Museum and Personal Art Studio.  For the owner, Mary Skiver, the loss of her and her husband’s business is one that affects more than just them, “The Tattoo Museum is a loss for the whole world,” she says.

 

She tells WTAJ inside the museum folks could find one of a kind pieces.  Skiver’s husband, Mike, has been collecting for 35 years and they have had their business in Somerset for at least 20 years.  

 

Within just minutes Friday night, all of the collectibles cherished through the years were gone.

 

“We just really didn’t know that the fire started in the kitchen.  We were eating and then we heard “boom boom” and here we are.”

 

The Skivers are not letting this loss get them down.  They plan to rebuild the museum with help from the community so that everyone can enjoy it.

 

“It’s unbelievable how people from around the world that have been calling us, messaging us on Facebook, and just generally showing up, like the people that are here today, because they want to send money and help.”
