The organic food trend has grown in recent years, but many people in Centre County were ahead of the curve.

Organic farms can be seen across the valleys and food from those farms is making its way into local restaurants.

The Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agricutlure, or PASA, was started in the small town of Millheim.

Tim Bowser is one of the founders of that organization and he also manages the Elk Creek Tavern, which is known for its local food menu.

He said the region is seeing a new type of consumer, one that is literally coming to the table.

“People want to know where their food was grown because they want to know what is in it,” said Bowser.

The organic food trend has also helped to revitalize the town of Millheim. On Wednesday, WTAJ will take you on the Road to show you more of the small farm community.
