Two police officers in Canonsburg have been shot and one of them has died.
In a news conference this afternoon police said 52-year-old officer Scott Bashioum died from injuries. The other officer underwent surgery and is in stable condition.
According to KDKA in Pittsburgh, the shooting happened overnight, around 3:30 a.m in the 100 block of Woodcrest Drive.
Police were initially called to the area for a domestic dispute. As the two Canonsburg police officers approached the home, the suspect, Michael Cwiklinski, opened fire.
Officials confirmed that Cwiklinski had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A woman inside the home has also died. She was six months pregnant and had a Protection From Abuse order against Cwiklinski.
