Huntingdon native John O’Korn will likely lead Michigan in their biggest game of the regular season against Ohio State on Saturday.

This would be O’Korn’s second start after he led Michigan to a win over Indiana last week. For Penn State fans in Huntingdon, this complicates things for Saturday’s big game. If Michigan loses, Penn State will have a chance to play for the Big Ten title if they can go on to win against Michigan State. For those fans in Huntingdon, that would mean rooting against the local kid.

O’Korn grew up in Huntingdon but moved to Florida after his grandmother’s health began to deteriorate after his sophomore year. From there, O’Korn went to Houston before finally transferring to Michigan.

His former coach from Huntingdon, Jim Zauzig, explained the continued support from O’Korn’s true home town. he said, “We’re very proud of John. This is his hometown. As opposed to what the TV screen said last Saturday. He GRADUATED in Ft. Lauderdale, but his hometown is Huntingdon, Pa.”

Michigan and Ohio State face off at noon on Saturday.
