Officers’ save lives of two overdose victims in one week

For the second time this week a Logan Township officer saved the life of an overdose victim by administering naloxone. 
 
Officer Chris Bender accepted a letter of commendation from Chief Tim Mercer for saving the life of a women who allegedly overdosed on prescription drugs.
Police went to a home on Reiling ave in Logan Township this morning around 9:30 am to serve a protection from abuse order. They found a 51 year old woman unconscious. Officer Bender revived the woman and she was transported to UPMC Altoona. 
Officer George Swander also received a commendation earlier this week for saving a man’s life after being called out to a home on East Atlantic Avenue in Altoona.
