Therapies for  Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis  and other neurological disorders are expanding at “We Care Therapy Services ” in Altoona.

“We Care” has just added a GigerMD therapy instrument at its  Miracle Movement Therapy Center (MMTC) . It which uses repetitive, coordinated movements to help patients’  recover their own abilities to walk and otherwise move more normally.

MMTC Director Stacy DuBois describes the program as a cutting edge rehab program  for individuals who are dealing with a brainstem and above neurologic and/or movement disorders. “We are currently treating patients with functional results that far exceed that which can be attained with a traditional rehab approach,” she says.

We care is one of 3 sites in the country with this equipment, which was bought with funds from local donors.

WTAJ’s Marielena Balouris will have a special report on “We Care Physical Therapy’s” new neurological therapies Thursday at 11pm on WTAJ News.
