JUPITER, FL (CBS) — Tiger Woods and his girlfriend, Erica Herman, have been named in a wrongful death lawsuit, that was filed by the family of Nicholas Immesberger, a 24-year-old bartender at The Woods Jupiter., a restaurant inside Harbor Place.
The lawsuit alleges that an excessive amount of alcohol was served at a party at the restaurant.
The lawsuit alleges Immesberger drank an excessive amount of alcohol after his shift back in December, then crashed his Corvette on his drive home near Southwest Colonial Drive in Port Salerno. His blood alcohol level was .256, more than three times the legal limit.
Investigators believe he was speeding and not wearing a seat belt.
The lawsuit states employees knew Immesberger was an alcoholic but overserved him to the point of “severe intoxication,” then sent him out to his car to drive home.
