PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities say a woman was shot and killed inside a north Philadelphia deli, one of two homicides amid a rash of gunfire around the city that also wounded a number of other people.
Police say the 40-year-old employee was struck in the head after a gunman fired from the entrance of CBM Deli at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
In Northwest Philadelphia, a 24-year-old man was shot multiple times shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday in the Germantown neighborhood and died minutes later. WPVI-TV reported that officers found nearly 40 shell casings and the man was hit 18 times.
Police reported nine shootings Saturday that wounded 10 people. Four more shootings before dawn Sunday killed the man and wounded four other people, three of them critically.
