BREAKING: Arrest made in recent bomb threats

A Florida man has been arrested in the recent bomb threats.

The suspect has been identified as Cesar Sayoc. It was not immediately clear if he was the only suspect in the case.

Sayoc has a last known address in the suburb of Aventura in Miami-Dade County.

He is a registered Republican, according to public records.

The arrest came at an Auto Zone in Plantation, Florida. The FBI and the NYPD could be seen around a van in the parking lot.

The arrest follows more suspicious packages were discovered this morning in New York and another in Florida.

The package in New York was addressed to former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, NYPD is investigating the package at a post office in midtown Manhattan.

The FBI confirmed that a suspicious package addressed to Senator Cory Booker had been recovered at a postal facility in Opa-locka, Florida.  They said it looks similar to the 10 other packages addressed to prominent Democrats earlier this week.

Investigators were led to south Florida by forensic evidence obtained from the packages and from U.S. Postal Service images of mail that is processed through their facilities.

All of the packages contained the return address of South Florida congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Officials said the packages did not appear to have a trip wire or ignition.

“We must never allow political violence to take root in America,” said President Trump.

Before a speech at the Young Black Leadership Summit at the White House, President Donald Trump confirmed a suspect had been arrested in connection with the suspicious packages sent to prominent Democrats. President Trump told the crowd, “These terrorizing acts are despicable and have no place in our country.”
