The North American bison is now the official mammal of the United States.
President Obama signed the National Bison Legacy Act into law on May 9.
Not only is the bison on two state flags, but it’s the official animal of three states.
It’s also the largest land mammal in the United States, weighing up to 2,000 pounds.
