Over the span of one hour, 30 cars were involved in two separate deadly pileups along I-80, Monday.
The first, near mile marker 74 eastbound, which is just before the Corsica exit, happened just after 11 a.m. The second, near mile marker 104, happened just miles from the Dubois exit.
Nearly 20 vehicles were involved in the crash and State Police confirmed one person died.
Elsewhere, officials are blaming white-out conditions for the nearly 6-car pile-up in Clearfield County, which resulted in the death of another driver.
One driver said conditions were tough.
“When we were driving, the snow just hit real fast and then the cars, you couldn’t even see in front of you… so the only thing I seen was the lights from the semi and I had to stop real fast and I didn’t even know that happened up there,” Samantha Ewers said.
