Mount Union residents hold block party

Mount Union residents gathered today to take a stand against heroin.

They held a block party at Victoria’s Gallery, and had several guest speakers share their experience with heroin and other drugs. One of those speakers traveled all the way from Boston, and his message was that people need to break the stigma of addiction and getting addicts help.

“It’s not going to change if we don’t get enough people to make change,” Heroin’s Killing My Town Founder Billy Pfaff said. “We need the entire state of Pennsylvania to get off their rear ends and do something now.”

The organizers of the event say their goal is to breathe life back into the community, and help recovering and struggling addicts with their everyday lives.
