A 66 year old State College man was killed after he was struck by a car on a busy State College road Wednesday night.
It’s the fourth fatal crash in the north end of the borough in nearly two years.
Josef Blunschi, of State College, was pronounced dead at the hospital Wednesday night. A woman’s car struck and killed him while he was crossing Park Avenue at McKee Street.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday. State College Police said the investigation is ongoing. So far, no charges have been filed.
People who cross Park Avenue at the McKee Street intersection regularly said unfortunately, they’re not surprised this happened. They consider the crosswalk a dangerous one and want to see more signage and additional lights added there.
State College Police said the department does not consider that intersection a problem area where crashes happen often. Chief Tom King said Wednesday’s crash is still in its early stages of investigation.
