A judge ruled to detain a Somerset County man until his trial for allegedly threatening to kill Vice President Mike Pence.
On Friday, the judge issued the decision, ordering William Dunbar, 22, to be detained at the Cambria County Jail until his next court appearance.
Police say Dunbar was on duty at the Army National Guard Training facility in Richland Township before the vice president’s visit to the Flight 93 Memorial on Sept. 11. Dunbar allegedly told other guardsmen on multiple occasions “If someone pays me enough money I will kill the Vice President.”
Dunbar’s defense attorney said he does not know if he and his client plan to appeal the decision.
A date for a preliminary hearing has not been scheduled yet.
