You may someone who’s decided to cut the cord, or switch from cable to one of the many streaming services out there. YouTube TV is the most recent one to be available in our area, and some locals are thinking about making the switch.

“I have heard of YouTube TV. There are some other features, as well, that I’ve heard about that are coming to the area. I have not researched this yet, but it is enticing,” Hollidaysburg resident Thomas Goetz said.

YouTube TV offers over 60 live channels. including local news and sports. According to its website, costs start at $40/month.

Some folks said they want to do some research on their own before they make a decision.

“I’ve seen it on TV a couple times, but don’t really know anything about it. I haven’t researched it at all, but I think it’s a good thing because YouTube is a great source for either school work or watching videos, trying to do some DIY stuff, so maybe it’ll be a good thing for our area,” Altoona resident Kolton McGhee said.

Others are set on sticking with current plans.

“I don’t use YouTube in general. We still have a landline, so luddites unite,” Altoona resident Bob Gordon said.
