A Cambria County woman is behind bars after admitting to stabbing another woman in the face.

Altoona Police say they responded to the reported stabbing at a home on East Pleasant Valley Boulevard around 8 p.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived, Pamela Fox, 51, from Cresson admitted to stabbing another woman in the face after an argument.

Officers found the victim with an eight inch butcher knife still in her cheek. She was taken to UPMC Altoona for surgery to remove the knife. She’s now in stable condition.

“She’s very lucky, this could have been a lot more serious than what it was. So she’s very fortunate that it didn’t strike anything vital in her face,” state Sergeant Mathew Plummer.

Fox was taken into custody on multiple charges including; Criminal Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Possessing Instruments of a Crime.

She remains in the Blair County Prison.
