A Somerset County woman accused of taking drugs, hitting a police car, and fleeing will go to trial.

According to the Tribune Democrat,  Laura Christine Szalankiewicz of Jenner Township was driving on Jerome Hill Road the night of September 15th, when she hit a Conemaugh Township police cruiser.

The officer turned around to chase her, and that’s when officials say she crashed her car into a cornfield.

She was taken to the hospital for a sobriety test, which she allegedly failed.

She waived her preliminary hearing yesterday.

She is now behind bars in the Somerset County Jail.
