Our last stop for Wine Week takes us to Cambria County where we check out our smallest winery with big plans for expansion.
Woody Lodge Winery is located along Colonel Drake Hwy heading in to Ashville.
At just 2,400 square feet, including production space, the cabin style building feels homey.
John Gaily Jr. recently bought in to the family business. His sister-in-law designs all the labels for the 19 wines that Woody Lodge makes.
“It’s artwork what she does,” he said.
While Woody Lodge doesn’t grow any of their own grapes yet, there are plans to change that.
“I have 10 acres that I’m going to plant over the next couple of years. It will be Concord and Niagara,” Gailey said.
For now, the majority of their grapes and fruit come from across the state.
If you would like to try some of the wine made by Woody Lodge, you can stop by their tasting room. Woody Lodge also opened up a new tasting room in Indiana. For more information about the winery, you can check out the Woody Lodge Facebook page.
