With September as Hunger Awareness Month, Central Pennsylvania Community Action, Inc. is working to make sure no one in the region has to wonder where their next meal comes from.
Going 50 years strong in feeding the hungry in the community, CPCA is trying to encourage locals to lend a hand in the fight against hunger, especially through this public service campaign.
While the food insecurity issues in the region can be tackled by advocating and raising awareness, the group is also seeking volunteers at their pantries located in Centre and Clearfield Counties.
CPCA additionally requests that individuals donate non-perishable food items, grocery store gift cards or monetary donations, which are all tax-deductible.
For more information about volunteering at one of the food pantries or sending donations, contact Volunteer Coordinator Robin Knepp in CPCA’s Philipsburg office at 814-342-0404, and she can connect you to the CPCA food pantry nearest you.
