It took many years for all the pieces of the Flight 93 Memorial Park to come together. Phase two was unveiled in 2015.

The first phase of the Memorial, the Wall of Names, remembers those who died on Flight 93.

The second phase helps park visitors never forget what happened that day .

The Visitor’s Center opened in 2015, 14 years after the crash. Walking toward the building, visitors follow the path the plane took that fateful day.

“We’re trying to teach them what those people on that plane did, in terms of teamwork and leadership and honoring may different groups,” said Henry Scully, Friends of Flight 93, 2016.

Inside the Visitor Center, visitors can find photographs, artifacts and interactive elements to tell the story of what happened in Shanksville on September 11, 2001.

“The Visitor Center is designed around the flight path of Flight 93, and it’s a tremendous work of art, as far as a architectural wonder,” said Stephen Clark, Superintendent, Western PA National Parks, 2015.
