Violence Against Women Act expires at midnight

At midnight Friday night, the Violence Against Women Act will expire.  

The decades-old law provides protections for survivors of domestic violence.

Senate Republicans are blaming the Democrats in the house for not including a short term extension of VAWA into the compromise funding bill passed by congress Thursday.

But as Anna Wiernicki explains, Democrats have a plan to make the law permanent.
