Police departments throughout Blair County are remembering a veteran officer after his sudden passing.
John Flinn was a part-time officer for Freedom Township Police. He died on Saturday while he was on the job.
Before retiring, Flinn served 36 years with the Logan Township Police Department. He took on many roles there, including Sergeant and Interim Police Chief.
His daughter tells WTAJ they’re in the process of creating a police academy scholarship in his honor.
The Logan Township Police Department released a statement about the 68 year old’s passing.
“He will be greatly missed by our department. His legacy is a role model to the officers he influenced during his time with Logan Township Police Department.”
