The UPMC Altoona Foundation will host the 5th annual Winter Splendor on Friday, Jan. 18 from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at the Blair County Convention Center.

Funds raised are used to support nursing scholarships for local students pursuing undergraduate and graduate level nursing education. The Foundation is establishing the Donald and Nancy Devorris Nursing Scholarship Fund in honor of longtime UPMC Altoona trustees and benefactors, the late Donald Devorris and his wife Nancy.

Dr. George Jabbour and his wife Talar Manayan, and Dr. Jonathan Holtz and his wife Mackensie Ryan are honorary co-chairs of the event. Live entertainment will be provided by The Moore Brothers.

The program includes a reception, cash bar, dinner, live auction, silent auction, and a basket raffle. Amy Mearkle, director of marketing at DelGrosso’s Park and Laguna Splash, is the mistress of ceremonies.

The evening will also include the UPMC Altoona Healthcare Honors awards and a salute to Jerry Murray, current president until January 14, UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford.

The Healthcare Honors award recognizes many years of service and generosity in support of UPMC Altoona and its patients.
