STATE COLLEGE, Pa., (WTAJ) — Former fraternity president Brendan Young, and vice president and pledge master Daniel Casey, two of the three brothers left to be sentenced, have seen their case put on hold.
This comes after state prosecutors appealed an order that evidence from the former brother’s cell can’t be used.
Both Young and Casey face charges of reckless endangerment, hazing, and alcohol violations.
Former house manager Braxton Becker is scheduled to head to trial late this May. He’s accused of intentionally deleting videos from the night of Timothy Piazza’s death.
We’re learning more about the Beta Theta Pi hazing case.
Frank Fina and Steve Trialonas, the defense lawyers for former Beta Theta president Brendan Young and pledge master Daniel Casey, have filed a motion arguing that Jim and Evelyn Piazza violated a gag-order a judge issued for the case last summer.
They say the Piazzas are providing direct opinions and characterizations about the case during speaking engagements.
The attorneys wanted that motion kept from the public but a judge said no.
No word on when a judge will rule on the motion.
