Crews responded to a the scene of a narrowly-avoided crash in Bedford County.

According to dispatch, the incident happened on North Richard Street and North Broad Street.

We’re told students from Bedford Elementary School were on board at the time.

Officials said that a school bus and a car were close to crashing, but did not collide. The bus driver hit the brakes, causing students to fly forward in their seats.

Fifteen students were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

No one was seriously injured.
