Two men are facing charges after a police chase in Cambria County just after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Johnstown Police said it started on the 800 block of Horner Street when they tried to pull over Michael Abney of Philadelphia for PA Vehicle Code.
That’s when he sped off, eventually turning down a dead end street. When the officers tried to corner him, he turned the car around, hitting a police car.
The fleeing car then drove towards Johnstown High School. The school heard the radio transmissions of the chase, and placed the school on lock down, delaying dismissal.
The fleeing car eventually came to a stop in the Moxham neighborhood. Abney and his two passengers left the car and fled on foot. He and one of those passengers, 24-year-old Mateen Hall, were both arrested.
Abney is facing several charges, including aggravated assault, fleeing and eluding police, required turn signals, and disorderly conduct.
Hall is also facing lesser charges, including resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
