Richland Township Police are investigating after an overnight shooting.
Officials say Matthew Dunkleberger shot and killed Amanda Bennett Monday around midnight before turning the gun on himself. It happened in the Aspen Woods townhouse complex, formally known as Arbutus Village, in Richland.
We’re told Dunkleberger was a sheriff’s deputy and part time police officer in Cambria County.
He and Bennett had one child together. Neither he nor his older brother were at the home at the time.
Police say while an investigation continues, they are ruling it a murder-suicide.
