A study by Pew research found that the twitter-verse is rampant with “bots” —
Those are automated accounts – not human beings – that can post content and interact with others.
Researchers examined more than 1-million tweets during the summer of 2017.
They found that of all tweeted links to 23-hundred popular websites, 66-percent were shared most likely by automated bots.
They say a relatively small number of highly active bots are responsible for sharing links to prominent news and media sites.
Researchers say their findings don’t evaluate if links were shared by “good” or “bad” bots…
Or if the bots are controlled outside of the U-S.
