The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop C, Camp Cadet Program will be held at Clarion University from July 28 through August 2.

The camp is for both boys and girls, 12- to 14-years-old from several counties, including Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, McKean and Northern Indiana counties. The campers will be at the University for the entire week.

Campers will enjoy a wide variety of activities, including demonstrations, and hearing speakers from local fire departments, the PA Game Commission, the PA Fish and Boat Commission, specialty units from the PA State Police, the PA National Guard, the FBI, a County Coroner, and the U.S. Secret Service.

This camp allows children to learn about team work and law enforcement. The program mirrors the training experience cadets at the State police Academy, where campers are required to wake up in the morning and take part in physical training. Campers will be also required to address people according to military standards and move around the campus in military formation.

There is a $20 non-refundable fee to attend the camp.

If you know a child who would like to attend the camp, parents can pick up a Camp Cadet application at the school they attend, at a local Troop C State Police station, or by contacting Trooper Bruce Morris at 814-772-2399 or bmorris@pa.gov.

Applications must be received no later than June 3, 2019.
